Those We Love Don't Have to Be Like Us

First, quickly, the winner for May's drawing of an autographed copy of either Thin Ice, Jake's Return or Ashton's Secret is Linda Rettstatt, who writes for women, stories of strength, love, humor and hope. If you missed her interview, it's here. Congratulations, Linda, and thanks for being one of my guest authors!

Although it's Sunday, inspiration is not coming today because I have so many projects going (which is why I missed posting FWL on Friday--I was so wrapped up in a project I completely forgot what day it was). I'd rather complete my works in progress than try to start something new, so thanks to my friend Wendy, I have some wonderful pictures to share today.

Apparently this deer visits a cat near Harrisburg every morining, and the cat's human (can anybody really own a cat?) took pictures.

Enjoy, and have a blessed week. May all your friendships be this loving.

How precious! We have a lot of deer on our property, and the squirrels and deer sometimes have what we in Texas call a "Mexican Standoff." They'll go almost nose-to-nose, frozen, until one moves, the other jumps, making the other one jump, and off the run in opposite directions. It always cracks me up. Thanks for a good start to Sunday morning. Love and peace. Celia

How cute Liana! Just goes to show we can all get along if we try. This was a nice smile to wake up to.

I've seen so many of these lately. Dog and deer and now kittie and deer. I wonder if the deer are losing a natural fear they need to stay safe??

I saw a video recently of an orangutan and a dog. It was in Africa, and the moment the orangutan saw the mutt, he jumped down and ran over to tackle him like an old friend. Long story short, the dog now lives with the orangutan and his family on a big preserve, and the two animals play together every minute they get.

We humans have much to learn!

I love these "animal mix" photos. I spend a fair amount of time looking out through my den window at the birdfeeder and studying the behavior of the different kinds of birds. It is very entertaining, and educational.

Liana;
I loved your pictures of the doe and cat playful friendship. It's the small wonders of life, that make it grand.
And in Change: I too thought you are right change is hard, but it can be done. Your blog there added to my reasons to make some changes in my life that I was beginnning to think was too hard to bear . Thanks for the added thought to just do what I can ,Change is good.

sincerely,

Wow that is truly amazing. We have deer all around us, but I have never seen a deer and a cat be so friendly before. I love the pictures.
